Simian, located Warrington opened their brand-new Apprentice Training Centre in Warrington Town Centre in January 2023 when their first cohort of roof slating/tiling apprentices began their journey. The company’s next intakes are mid-May 2024. Waterproof Applied Membrane apprenticeships will also continue to be provided at the centre (Liquid, Single Ply and RBM included in the latter)
Preston College has expanded their Construction Department and has added roofing to its existing provision. Training is following a block-release pattern with one week in College and 4/5 weeks with the employer. Next intake is September 2024
Bolton College continues to provide training and their next intake is to start in September 2024 –
Skills Construction Centre, Kirkham operates a rolling start so no need to wait (roof slating/tiling).
All the above follow what’s known as a block-release pattern of training where the apprentice attends the Training Provider for 1 week per month, returning to their employer for 4/5 weeks
RossCon Training also offers roof slating/tiling & flat roofing and is offering a new type of delivery as apprentice training is offered on-site, 1 day every 3 weeks plus all other training on-line
